Since being elected in November of 2016, I have worked alongside my councilmembers and the city staff to continue to strive for One City, One Alhambra. These are some of the items I want to complete during a second term.
Public Safety is an important issue for our city. I want to continue to actively seek funding to hire more firefighters and police officers and secure more grants and funding for additional fire and police technology. Additionally, I want to increase youth participation in both the fire and police cadet programs. Lastly, I will work towards securing more funding for homeless advocacy and code enforcement.
Traffic is another issue facing our city. I plan on continuing to work with stakeholders to mitigate traffic and find solutions for our growing city.
Alhambra offers a phenomenal Parks and Recreation program. I want to continue to work federal, state and local government to bring additional programs and services to Alhambra. I plan on identifying more green space in our city such as pocket parks and other possibilities.
We face a housing shortage in Alhambra and across our state. I plan on working on ordinances for inclusionary housing and preservation. I want to continue to work with stakeholders to add more affordable housing in our city. Lastly, I want to continue to work with stakeholders and secure funding to reduce our City’s homeless population.
